Homework Chapter 16.1
4. Determine the hydronium and hydroxide ion concentrations in a solution that is 1.0 x 10-4M Ca(OH)2.
Given:
Ca(OH)2
1 x 10 -4 M
Ca(OH)2 has two hydroxides per formula. Thus the concentration of the hydroxide ion is twice the concentration of the concentration of the solution. Thus [OH-1] = 2(1 x 10-4M)= 2 x 10-4M.
